Biography
Dr. Peter Yangga is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. After earning his medical degree from Universitas Airlangga in Indonesia, Dr. Yangga completed his residency at Lincoln Medical Center/Weil Cornell, where he developed a strong foundation in internal medicine. His passion for prevention, treatment, and curing of infectious diseases led him to pursue a fellowship at Montefiore Einstein. During his fellowship, he performed inpatient consults and ambulatory care in various areas of infectious diseases, including HIV/STDs, LGBTQ care, transplant infections, multidrug-resistant infections, tropical medicine, and vaccinations. He also received additional training in high-resolution anoscopy (HRA) procedures for HPV-related anal cancer screening and prevention.
Dr. Yangga is a dedicated and compassionate internist and infectious disease specialist known for providing exemplary patient care in general internal medicine, primary care, and infectious diseases. His clinical focus extends to HIV care, sexually transmitted infections, and LGBTQ care. His expertise includes PrEP, DoxyPEP, and HPV-related anal cancer screening and prevention.
He is an active member of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), and the International Anal Neoplasia Society (IANS). He continually seeks to stay updated with the latest advancements in medical research and technology to provide personalized and comprehensive care tailored to meet each patient’s unique needs.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Yangga enjoys yoga and choral singing, activities that help him maintain a well-rounded and balanced life. These interests contribute to his ability to foster a positive and supportive environment for all patients, ensuring that their health and well-being are always a top priority.
