Inessa Khaykis, M.D.
| Dr. Khaykis is a practicing gastroenterologist with a specialty in advanced procedures such as Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) with FNA and Capsule Endoscopy. She is also a member of the faculty at the New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Khaykis graduated with a degree in Medicine from Chelyabinsk Medical Academy. She completed her Internal Medicine residency, chief residency in Internal Medicine, as well as her fellowship in Gastroenterology at the New York University School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Khaykis received an advanced training in Endoscopic Ultrasonography of pancreatobiliary diseases at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Working in an academic environment enabled her to further pursue her interests in bridging the gap that exists between basic advances and clinical practice. All these translated into her research in areas of epidemiology and prevention of infectious liver diseases; obesity and weight loss surgery outcomes; the role endoscopic ultrasonography in diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. Dr. Khaykis’s areas of interest include screening and prevention of colon cancer, diagnosis of pancreatic and biliary diseases, management of gastric esophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcer disease.
